How to choose your perfect sunscreen:
- Choose a sunscreen with a broad-spectrum which gives protection against UV-A and UV-B rays and has a sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30.
- Do some Research before buying any brand. Read product labels and ingredients very carefully.
- Look for a waterproof brand for this humid weather. Buy a sunscreen that contains zinc oxide, titanium dioxide, oxybenzone those minerals block the sun’s UV rays so that they work faster than any chemical sunscreen ingredients. Avoid those brands which contain para-aminobenzoic acid (PABA) if you have a sensitive skin.
- If you have oily skin or sensitive skin uses a nongreasy, water-based sunscreen.
- If you think more expensive means better, then you are wrong. Although an expensive brand may smell good or feel good is not certainly more powerful than a cheaper one.
- Be aware of the expiry date of the brand because some ingredients might humiliate overtime.
When to apply sunscreen:
- Apply sunscreen liberally before being on the sun. Wear it to all your bare skin to avoid skin damage. It normally takes 20 minutes to absorb the sunscreen into your skin to protect you from the harmful sun rays. If your skin is unprotected it can burn. Don't forget to reapply sunscreen after every 3 hours or after swimming.
- Protect your skin by wearing a hat, sunglass, covering clothes and remember to take an umbrella when you step out.
How to apply sunscreen:
- Choose your suitable brand of sunscreen, must has an SPF of 30 or higher, and non-greasy, and is water resistant, and gives broad-spectrum coverage, which will protect you from UVA and UVB rays....
- Apply a generous amount of sunscreen to uncovered parts of your body
- Use at least 1 tablespoon of sunscreen (of at least an SPF30) on your face, and more or less 2 ounces for your body. Unless you apply a thick layer of sunscreen on your skin. After that, you’re probably getting an SPF 10 out of your SPF 30. Be careful when you are applying the sunscreen around the eyes.
